Naproxen

Plantar fasciitis is an inflammatory condition, so medications that target inflammation are key to treatment. Naproxen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), is often a preferred option if it’s safe for the patient. NSAIDs not only reduce pain but also address the underlying inflammation. Typically, naproxen is taken twice daily for up to a month. If pain persists, consult a podiatrist to explore alternative or stronger options for managing pain and inflammation.

WARNING: Do not take naproxen without consulting your doctor if you have a history of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, kidney disease or cardiovascular disease. When in doubt, always prioritize safety and ask your doctor first.
